Java is one of the most perspective technologies. It is a programming language that has grown substantially from the beginning back in 1995 to the present. Standalone applications is another field that Java is very successful in because of its portability from one operating system to another. The program written in Java in Windows environment does not need to be altered when it is being transported to another operational system, such as Linux or Mac, which makes programmer's life much more easier. Another advantage of Java is that this is an object-oriented language. This means that every class in Java is derived from the Object class. This allows big and sophisticated applications to be easily constructed in Java by combining small programs. Such features as an inheritance and polymorphism give additional advantage to a Java programmer. Another attractive feature of Java is its standard library, that includes hundreds of classes and method for a programmer to use. Java has successfully expanded itself in the 3D programming and into the mobile devices programming. It can do virtually everything starting from database connectivity to Remote Method Invocation. There is a lot of talk about Java Swing technology, which along with AWT provides a user friendly interface for creating a number of applications.
